On Page SEO Techniques
-
Page Titles
Page titles are one of the most important SEO factors on your site. Make a unique title for each of your pages & posts, which include the main keywords for that page. The keyword or keyword phrase that is chosen for each page is the most important part of SEO Optimization.
When choosing a keyword, there are few things to keep in mind. The keyword should be:
- In line with the subject of the page.
- Easily searchable
- Easy to use and works within the text.
So some header text should be wrapped with <h1> or <h2> tags and include the keyword. Also, ensure to add your keyword at the very beginning of the first paragraph.
For example, you could write a blog post about how to write a blog post that you have tried. It is for that reason really important that you include ‘how to write a blog post’ within your post title, maybe “tips for writing blogs”, etc.
This way, whenever someone searches for how to write a blog post in a search engine, your post has a better chance of showing up because you have included those keywords.
-
Meta Descriptions
Google also checks the page meta description. But a lot of people forget to include meta descriptions for their pages. These meta descriptions are an important place to include related keywords for your content, as these are the use within the search results when your page is listed.
This description is what will show up as the small paragraph under the title when search results are returned to the viewer. This is the first part of the information that the viewer sees before clicking that the viewers see before clicking on the page.
For Example: if we continue to use the ‘how to write a blog post’ example, then a good meta description for that page would contain those keywords and related ones. So “There are so many learning techniques In this Post, we’ll show you how to write a blog post in four simple steps that people will actually want to read.” would be a great meta description to use, as it is relatively short, even as containing a number of specific keywords.
-
Meta Tags
For all of your pages, you can include a set of keywords in the form of meta tags. These should be all the relevant keywords of your content, which you will have found previously.
For that, you can use the WordPress plugin such as ‘All in One SEO Pack’. This allows us to enter meta tag keywords, meta description and Title tag at the bottom of each of posts before publishing.

Ensure that your URL includes your keyword or phrase for the page. Put it at the beginning of the URL string, as that is the best placement for Google who values early words with higher weight.
Including search engine friendly URLs for each of your pages is highly recommended, a there bring better crawling. Shorter URLs seem to perform better in search engine results, but that is not the only factor.
For example, site.com/keyword would perform better than site.com/365/738/subfolder/keyword etc.
-
Body Tags (H1, H2, H3, H4, etc.)
When writing your blog post, make sure your content into smaller sections & paragraphs to make it easier for people to read. These sections can be given heading, which is where H1, H2, H3, H4, etc. Tags are used.
So search engines use these to decide what is important within your content. That’s why keyword rich headlines are more useful than generic ones. Ensure you write keyword rich headings in the order of priority in H1, H2, and H3 title tags. They are used by many crawlers to differentiate important content.
-
Keyword Density
Add related keywords in all your content is very important when it helps search engines work out what your content is about. Don’t extremely repeat and stuff keywords just for search engine robots. This can guide to your site being banned from search engines.
